FATIGUE

This torsion fatigue / torsion impact test rig consists of an Electric Torque Motor, a Reaction Base and a Torque Cell.  Testing is conducted by holding one end of the specimen fixed.  The Electric Torque Motor applies torque to the non-fixed end while the Torque Cell measures the torque at the fixed end.

Many Different waveforms of torque can be programmed such as, balanced sine, offset sine, square, triangle and linear ramp.  Real Time profiles can be recreated from road load data, including impact torques.  In addition, there is a block programmer that can combine the above wave forms into one profile.

Typical tests include:

  • Torsional Fatigue
  • Static Torsion Strength (Ultimate Torsion / JAEL)
  • Torsion Impact

Standard performance parameters:

  • Torques up to +/- 11000 Nm
  • Sine frequencies up to 20 Hz (depending on specimen stiffness)
  • Angular velocities up to 3600 deg/s
