BP

The Bumper Pendulum (BP) is intended for low-speed bumper impact testing according to worldwide regulations like ECE R42 and FMVSS Part 581.

The BP consists of a large frame that supports a swinging mass via a parallelogram linkage. Effective impacting pendulum mass can be adjusted, and several impact speeds can be obtained by pulling the pendulum back with an electric motor open-loop operated winch whose cable end is fitted with a suitable quick release mechanism.
