Rigs intended to measure very accurately functional characteristics of sideshafts and propshafts such as Torque to rotate, Articulation moment with and without rotation, Eccentricity (runout), Axial and Rotational lashes, Articulation angle vs plunging displacement (stroke-angle diagram), Static and dynamic plunge resistance (load stroke), Generated axial force, Audit knock and Efficiency. On request, High-frequency plunge excitation can be added.
The test rig consists of two torque motors arranged face-to-face (4-quadrants operation) without gearboxes nor mechanical transmissions.
Performance of these test rigs for standard configurations:
- Torques up to 500 Nm
- Spinning speeds up to 1200 rpm
- High-frequency plunge up to 60 Hz
