La catapulta petita (Small CATapult, SCAT) is a powerful and cost-efficient crash simulation system particularly suited for testing of compact, low to medium mass components, intended to reproduce both complex vehicle pulses and regulatory standards to test seats, seat belts, batteries – REESS, child restraints, etc.
The working principle is based on a servo-pneumatic actuator on whose ram acts a high-frequency response servo-hydraulic brake unit to precisely reproduce the desired acceleration pulse in the sled that is moving on the rails.
Main working parameters of this system (for enhanced features see HyperG):
- Nominal force 1000 kN
- Maximum speed 80 km/h
- Maximum payload 1500 kg
- Sled dimensions L2400 mm x W1400 mm
