The Small CATapult (SCAT) is a powerful and cost-efficient crash simulation system particularly suited for testing of compact, low to medium mass components, intended to reproduce both complex vehicle pulses and regulatory standard tests like:
– Seats: ECE R17-A9, R80-A4
– Seat belts: ECE R16-A8, FMVSS 208
– Head restraints and Whiplash: EuroNCAP 3.1, FMVSS 202a, RCAR-IIWPG 3
– Child restraints: ECE R44-A7, R129-A7 (Isofix), FMVSS 213, ADAC
– Batteries (REESS): ECE R100-A8C
– Roof load carriers: ISO 11154
– Aircraft seats: FAR 25.562
Reaction-block free: In contrast to larger crash simulation systems, SCAT does not require a heavy reaction block, being easily installable in existing buildings with simple foundations thus minimizing the civil work cost and the commissioning time.
